Born to Die

Born to Die

Emanuel, God is with us. This was Act One of God's love toward us. He broke the barrier of time and space to come here from eternity to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins (you know, those evil intentions we have no matter how good we think we are). But a theatre never closes on the first act.

Act Two is the death on... the cross. The miracles, the healings, the teachings were nice but the Sacrifice was the purpose of the Birth.

Act Three is raising from the dead to reaffirm to us He is the One True God who has the power over life, death, and time.

So, if He came through on those promises, why not do the same for everything else He said? So, when we tear open our gifts today, think of the Baby Born Whose Body would be torn so we would never receive the punishment due us. As we bag up the wrapping and boxes to toss them away, think of the Baby Born to rest in a grave thirty-three years later so we can rest with the Father for eternity. As we lose our zeal and appreciation for the splendid Gift of the Baby Born, know this: His body does not occupy a landfill like our earthly gifts of Christmas past because He lives! He reigns in Heaven loving on us and waiting for more to accept Him as Lord and King.

Merry Blessed Day
The Lord came to clean our wretched way!

Breathless

Have you ever had those moments when you were totally incapable of speech when you beheld something really beautiful? I am not just talking about the external only, I also mean when the inside can reflect what is on the outside. Your mind races with so many things to say but your mouth never can materialize the very words you wish to share. You stare and don't stare because you know you would look, say or act completely foolish. With Christmas so glamourized, I often see a side of this season that really offends me and makes me sick. However, I will always appreciate those brief moments when the Lord will bless me with an opportunity to behold the beauty in His creation. I am speechless at this point, but also thankful for the opportunity. Have you had a breathless moment lately?

Giving Credit

My voice has finally recovered from a play in which I performed this Sunday. I was not using a microphone so I had to project very strong. I was scream, laughing and my voice was ruined on Monday. Thank God for tea! So, I have to give extra credit to those performers who do this on a daily basis!

Mammogram Rewrite

While I was doing my laundry this morning, I heard the most interesting report. "Researchers" say that women should no longer perform self-checks and also should wait until fifty (50) if there is no serious risk.

Funnier is the response from the American Cancer Society because they are completely against it. I am siding with the ACS. The timing of this "recent discovery" and the life of the "healthcare overhaul" is very interesting. Would it be possible that the goal is to reduce the expenses on in the medical market because it will not be covered under Obama-Care? Yes, women! Obama-Care does not want you finding out too soon if you have breast cancer because it will be an issue that makes you unworthy of the proper assessments and treatments for your threatening condition. Do you still want Obama-Care? How about scratching the Obama part and just seek the Care.

Sage or Cynic?

I grew up (if I can even say that) with the understanding that wisdom comes with age. I tend to agree with it, but I am seeing so many examples where it just may not ring true. Look at the Supreme Court Justices, Senators and Governors. Many have been around for ages and yet make the most insane liberal decisions. They operate out of predisposition rather than coherent and rational thinking. King Solomon summed up this illogical behaviour in Ecclesiastes as "vanity!" I can spend all day on the vanity of government officials (oh the fun we could have), but I want to redirect our attention to ourselves.

Think about a time (or times) we have made decisions solely based on the fact that we believed we were wise enough or old enough. We thought of ourselves to be intelligent and were in the best position to assess our situation and judge accordingly. We probably had more than enough information and proceed from there. However, in folly, we invested in the wrong thing or threw away the best option. We then turned mad because our decision was ill-advised and looked at the object of our failure as the fault instead of considering the decision maker.

So, the next time we consider a decision based on the number of visible or invisible grey hairs we have, let reflect on the following: 1) We need to ask if it is because we learned to glean much from what we have learned, or; 2) Have we stressed out because we were set in our ways?

Fantasy Football

For years I have been avoiding the invitations to join a league for Fantasy Football. I love Football! However, my knowledge of the players only goes as far as name and hopefully their jersey numbers. I am a Miami Dolphins fan but not so much that I know every player and what college they attended. I have been to several NFL games and have owned some paraphernalia but I am just not a stats kind of person. I have a 3-5 record so far these season and it's okay. It can sometimes be addicting to want to win, but I am happy I tried this out. Maybe I will win next year!

Facebook Mania

I have a FaceBook account, but the one thing I hate more than anything are all those freakin' Apps! I got more requests for Mafia Wars and every other thing that I just don't have the time for. As it is, I have not been consistent on keeping up with my blog! I find myself at times in a conundrum. I love technology, but I can't stand technology because like crack cocaine, people can become addicted. But it is far worse in FaceBook. I get consistent notification about Wildlife donations and every other annoying "feature" inside of FaceBook. I only got on the site because I heard it was better than MySpsace. In many ways yes, but please someone, someone destroy those stinking apps!

Two sisters, one blonde and one brunette, inherit the family ranch..

Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble.

In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull so that they can breed their own stock.
Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, 'When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home.'

The brunette arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to buy it.

The man tells her that he will sell it for $599; no less.

After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news.
She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I've bought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."

The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds, it will cost 99 cents per word.

Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister one word.

After a few minutes of thinking, she nods and says, "I want you to send her the word 'comfortable'."

The operator shakes his head. "How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her just the word 'comfortable'?"

The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde. The word is big.

She'll read it very slowly.... 'com-for-da-bul'."

My Office Space

Have you ever seen the movie Office Space? I am living in a way you would never believe. I am inspired to buy a red Swingline Stapler soon.

More Appreciative

Have you ever thought back about those relationships you wished never died. Sometimes I do. Two (2) women in my past have profoundly affected my present and I believe my future. One was with the first woman to whom I was engaged. We went our separate ways, but as I look back, she made more sacrifices than I realized. The second, who I assure you is not the stalker, had a different take on life. She brought out the best in me and helped me become less "green". Her advice, tough at times, was truly wise for a person of her age. For both of them, I pray the Lord will truly bless them as they have blessed me.

As I plow forward, I have a better perspective to take as new people come into my life.

Windows 7

If you have a computer older than two (2) years, replace and buy a new one! Get a computer with a 64bit processor and 4GB Ram (minimum). Windows 7 is a lot better than Vista. It runs ten (10) times faster and has much less overhead. In its BETA phase I was very unhappy with it because there were too many things that were reminiscent of Vista. Am I completely happy? Of course not! Who is ever completely happy? Buy it! Trust me! You'll love it!

I'm getting older

My 20th year high school came and went this past weekend and I was unable to be there. Maybe, I will sponsor the 30th if the funds come in the way I want it over the next several years. I have met up with a million (not exactly) people from school on FaceBook. It has been cool, but if one more person tries to get me to load a FaceBook app, I will scream. I barely have time to write on here because I am so busy with the books and my son. Here is a simple request, add a friend and be a friend by not adding those apps.

Little Man Getting Older

My son turned ten (10) this past weekend. He is finally a double-digit man! And I am really proud of him. He was blessed with money and chose to save up his money so he can buy gifts for his mother and sister for Christmas. Sometimes, I felt that he was learning nothing from me. But when he made this choice over buying the gift he wanted, I was humbled. He'll be getting the gift he wanted because of his Christ-like behavior.
I know the days will be growing shorter where hanging with me will not be so cool. I have already warned him that I will hug and kiss him in front of his friends when he is in high school. Worst part is that he knows I will do it to him.

Post Work Day 2

Second day of helping my buddy lay the posts for his privacy fence. This day went a lot smoother and faster. This was a very nice change from working on computers. It has been actually very therapeutic.

Working on the fence a few days ago humbled me. The very next day I was only able to type, but my hands and joints were sore from the strenuous task. This old age thing is really not cool!

Post Work Day 1

My buddy needed help laying posts for a privacy fence. We hit a lot of hard clay and were all over the place. We hit a couple of meteor rocks that forced us to change direction. This was a humbling experience. I learned so much. But now I cannot feel my thumbs!

IRONY: Part 2

People will tell you that the speech to our kids was solely about "achieving their potential". I read the speech and much of it was heart-warming and even close to what I already echo to my son and other kids. So, what was the problem with the speech? It was the garbage woven neatly throughout. The biggest one I want to address is how are kids are told to "WORK HARD TO MAKE AMERICA MORE FREE". What?

Work hard to make everything "FREE"? Is anyone bothered by this statement? And to make it plain! NOTHING IS FOR FREE!!!!

Free education, health care and all these other "rights" (NOTE: There is nothing in the constitution that health care and education are rights! You work for these! You earn them!) Remember the $10 trillion deficit this administration is projecting? Hello, someones going to have to pay for all this free stuff! So, when people get what they want, the government will come back later with higher taxes expecting you to pay for that free thing you were expecting!

So, we will work hard to make something seemingly free, but in all actuality, it cost many of you your souls for siding with the devil.

IRONY: Part 1

There has been a lot of discussion over BHO addressing our children today. It was interesting to see that many of the "open-minded" people were quick to insult people who wanted to excuse their children from the televised speech. The very people who will tell you that "they do not want you to push your views on them", will tell you how to raise your children and how you should view the world. They, ironically, insult you because you are exercising the same freedoms they wish you to extend to them. However, you cannot have that freedom and you are a hate-mongering racist if you oppose this administration. People never learn to read! Look at the transcript and I assure you that you will find the radical socialist agenda woven in between the sweet loving words! I implore you, DO NOT DRINK THE KOO-LAID!!!!!

H1N1 and Global Sterilization

Years ago, the former co-founder of Green Peace wrote about the Earth not being able to sustain its current population. He said that the Earth needs to lose about 4 billion people in order for it to not lose all its resources. The article never got around because people were to busy bashing Bush. Strangely, however, a candidate for the Democratic Party defeats to Colossus Clinton to represent the "free thinking party" (NOTE: This term is being used more loosely than a pot of boiled spaghetti).

You may say that I am being harsh but let's look at his credentials:
Most aggressive abortion advocate in known government since Hitler.
Supports sycophants that don't mind killing fellow Americans.
Has a "science adviser" who supports euthanasia and population control.
(NOTE: This term is being used more loosely than a glutton who just ate several spicy burritos laced with Ex-lax).
Manages to let Social Security dwindle too low under his watch, despite $700 billion added to his wallet.

So, what's with my title? I am glad you asked.

Think about it, H1N1 shows up on this particular watch when only "so much" vaccine would be available to the public. My question is who it's going to and will the vaccine be laced with some kind of sterilization compound.

Think about it, if only a certain segment of people can continue to pro-create, then we can limit populations strategically. Europe has depleted most of its resources, intellectually as well. But the US is fertile with resources and land to maintain life for years to come. The whole US population could live within the confines of the Texas border. Wow! That leaves 49 other states to grow & produce.

I feel kind of stupid for taking those free flu vaccine shots the last couple of years. Once, I remarry, if I cannot have kids, I may have my answer. But the H1N1 vaccine will be on the bottom of my list of options. Well, I may get the vaccine before every buying Obama paraphernalia.

Discriminating Glenn Beck

I tried to keep quiet for a long time. There were too many articles to walk away from but it's time to come out of retirement. Plus, I need a break from writing.

It used to be actually admirable to be a person of discriminating taste. It showed wisdom and intelligence. However, Politically-Correctness has robbed us of a term that allowed for terms such as black and white and it narrowed the muddled gray area.

I saw an article about many companies puling their advertisement from the Glenn Beck Show. Why? Because he had the same guts that the sycophants from the Bush era bore to insult his intelligence, his faith and call him a racist. Yet, for some strange reason it seems as though more companies were vying for their products in those time slots. The View, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC and a plethora of other "news worthy (NOT!!!)" tv shows crapped on Bush more in a week than their totally restroom visitation count in a two (2) year period. But nothing happened.....

Why?

While, I hate the Patriot Act's steroid boost to government control, I did not see the amount of censorship and restriction at the government level like now. When, not if, this year is out, be sure to celebrate the fall of the US Constitution as we know it to be. Outside of watching the Wheel of Fortune, I am done with a lot of these networks!

Too Good to be True

Blown-away Chihuahua reunited with owners

Tue Apr 28, 7:18 am ET

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Tinker Bell has been reunited with her owners after a 70-mph gust of wind picked up the six-pound Chihuahua and tossed her out of sight.

Dorothy and Lavern Utley credit a pet psychic for guiding them on Monday to a wooded area nearly a mile from where 8-month-old Tinker Bell had been last seen. The brown long-haired dog was dirty and hungry but otherwise OK.

The Utleys, of Rochester, had set up an outdoor display Saturday at a flea market in Waterford Township, 25 miles northwest of Detroit. Tinker Bell was standing on their platform trailer when she was swept away.

Dorothy Utley tells The Detroit News that her cherished pet "just went wild" upon seeing her.

------
Jokes could go either way on this one with a Peter Pan or Wizard of Oz theme.

Should the dog have been named Toto?
Was the psychic the Witch of the North?
Was there fairy dust around the dog when it took flight?

I found my Harley

My Harley Davidson has been stolen! And the thief is showing it on his site! Well, not exactly.... But it is still a nice bike that would be a great gift to an underprivileged, uneducated, unloved black man like me. :(

Just kidding. Adding a new blog buddy: WingMaster.

Recommend Read

As a new writer trying to get my own books published, I would be spending a lot of time covering my own endeavours (which I am). But I have to take a moment to talk about an author who really can dish it. His name is Matt Bracken and he has an awesome series to read (third book is to be out soon!!!! YEAH!!!!)!

I place these in the order of their release. If I have said anything in these last few years, I am placing this in the top list of important things to do after establishing a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sorry it has been a minute since I have written. I have been inundated with projects at work and at home (book writing). I think I see my shadow, so I will be coming back out.

Steeling back America?

Michael Steele has been elected as the chairman of the RNC. This move was purely political and way too late. This should have happened long before America elected a Black President. This move should have been played at least twenty (20) years ago. I am perplexed as to why it did not happen sooner given that the Republican party was the first to have Blacks serve in Congress and other political positions of power and influence. And that was in the 1800s! The Demorats did not add Blacks to party seats until the 1940s. Interesting. I applaud the Republican party for appointments like Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell (yuck), and Condi Rice (awwww yeaaaahhh!!!), but this move with Steele is more of a disappointment to me because its move is clearly understood.

Newspaper mourns another murdered reporter.

This story is about the fourth murder of a Russian reporter in eight (8) years from the same company. It is really sad because the corrupt officials and criminals don't want any accountability. I think this is the direction we'll be heading in this administration and coming future. Censorship is on the way. God forgive us.

Court decides Christian school can expel lesbian students

This is the nonsense that drives me mad. (link to story)

It should have been obvious that behaviour like this would not be tolerated. But the LEFT has so much momentum in their anti-Christian agenda that these kids would feel emboldened to bring the school to court because they broke the rules!

To Kill or Not to Kill

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/International/story?id=6716958&page=1.

Should we have been surprised? It is interesting to note the nature of this policy:
  • Created by a Republican
  • Rescinded by a Democrat
  • Re-instituted by a Republican
  • Rescinded by a Democrat

Now, I am not saying Choosing Life is a Right vs Left thing, it is a Right vs Wrong thing! All the Christians who voted for this man will be judged by God. They did not care that this was his record because they were so eager to see change and history made.

But again, we are paying international groups monies that need to focus on America. Interesting! That was an amazing way of "CHANGE"! We shouldn't spend one cent to kill terrorists, but we can spend unlimited dollars to kill babies! I have not agreed with all the processes of the Iraqi war, and it is sad that over 4200 troops have lost their lives since 2003. Yet, over 75 million children have lost their lives by the vehicle of abortion. Even a 2nd grader can see the obvious reality of those numbers. The real "CHANGE" that would have been nice, would be that Obama left the policy intact.

May God have mercy on his soul.

Jimmy Carter Junior?

Why so silent on the Israel/Hamas conflict Mr. Man from "The Office of the President Elect"? He has a comment on everything else but the one thing that will truly show his colors.

This man is anti-Israel and we are going to see our second anti-Israel president. Do not be surprised if he does not pick Jimmy Carter as some kind of liason for the pressure he will apply to Israel to allow her neighbors to keep screwing her over.

I really hope I am wrong on this one.

The American Drum

Go East, young man? Californians look for the exit.

I saw this article and it was amazed to see that the TOP TWO (2) progressive states of the country are not so ideal to live in any longer. Very sad (especially considering that one was were I was raised and still considered my home). But. what was the key to their downfalls? How could such prominent states be so unappealing? How could the two (2) states that were considered the arenas of change not appeal to a culture trying to climb out of the arcane ways of doing things?

"years of rising taxes, dead-end schools, unchecked illegal immigration and clogged traffic have robbed the Golden State of its allure"

Interesting.

This is what the majority of American people selected as the vehicle for change.
This will be the drum roll for all the "progressive states" that believed the traditional ways did not work anymore. We've long left behind the mantra of "God, country, and family." We have abandoned the moral principles that made this country a great economic power in the world. Why? Why? Why?
"Idolatry leads to immorality!"

When we idolize things and people, we dethrone God. And when a nation dethrones God, their demise is soon to come. Every great nation's demise can found in their ability to forsake their Creator by worshipping themselves and an ideology that is so self-absorbed, there is no room for God and anything good.

So, should this news be shocking? No, not really. Be prepared, the drummer is not done playing his beat.

05 January 2009

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas

The "twelve drummers drumming" were the twelve points of belief expressed in the Apostles' Creed: belief in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, made man, crucified, died and arose on the third day, that he sits at the right hand of the father and will come again, the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting.*

That's the basics of the faith. The fact that it is God alone who makes all of this possible. Any alteration of these tenets is a different gospel and not a gospel at all. God did all the work and all we have to do is accept that fact because we realize how depraved we are and incapable of fixing our lives w/o the atoning work of Jesus on the cross.

I pray that today and everyday forward, the Lord will help every person comes to a saving knowledge and saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

God bless you all

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas

The "eleven pipers piping" refers to the eleven faithful apostles.*

While they may have not had the best testimony before the Cross, I'd take being on of the eleven disciples who did not betray Christ. Sometimes we can let our circumstances affect our faith, but what is most important is holding onto Christ when it even seems illogical. However, we are in a day and time when Christians will really be tested to see if their trust is in Christ. With a horrible economy and anti-Christian establishments on the rise, will you be a Judas, or one of the faithful eleven?

I pray that today, the Lord will help every person that calls Jesus Christ as their Saviour will grow deeper in their faith and not deny Christ when the inevitable comes.

On the Tenth Day of Christmas

The "ten lords a-leaping" represents the Ten Commandments.*

What is this country going to become on the day the last Ten Commandments is removed from a government building? Honestly, they have been removed from the heart of America a long time ago. We should not be surprised as crime rises. It will take a miracle to restore this country back to where they need to be because a country without the Ten Commandments is a dictatorship and nightmare.

I pray that today, the Lord will help every person see that Ten Commandments are not a hindrance to life but a help that point towards the hope of Jesus Christ.

On the Ninth Day of Christmas

The "nine ladies dancing" were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.*

Sometimes these of been called the fruits, but it should be called fruit (singular). The world offers none of these, no matter how much money you have. Especially in this day and age, the only way to have true love, joy and peace is to have Christ as your Saviour.

I pray that today, the Lord will help every person seek Jesus Christ for true love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

01 January 2009

On the Eighth Day of Christmas

The "eight maids a milking" reminded children of the eight beatitudes listed in the Sermon on the Mount.*

The awesome thing about these beatitudes is that it gives us the correct perspective any person who claims they're following after God should have. Often we (author included) tend to redefine what would be considered acceptable behaviour before God. We have a pseudo form of compassion and dupe ourselves into believing that we have pure motives in our actions. Truth be told, we're devilishly selfish in our intentions. However, these verses in the Sermon on the Mount crucify the icon of self and supplant it with the Presence, Power and Perfection of Christ. Humbling ourselves to live as He calls us will yield a life that is fruitful and appealing to anyone around us.

I pray that today, the Lord will help every person in this new year to have the Kingdom perspective shown in these verses and to follow after the Way, Truth, and life: Jesus Christ.

God bless you all
