Wicked World and good God?

I have often heard the question of why a good God could allow such suffering and evil in the world. It is one of the big questions and I'd like to look at it for a few minutes. While, I believe we ask the question; I believe we really don't want the answer. The answer lies within the unique nature of our origin. As being agents of free-will; we descecrate the beauty the world has to offer. It's the human agent that makes everything bad. Think about it, we don't have to teach our children to be bad; that's a given. Are the laws constructed against the good or bad. Laws were created so we do not act so atrociously. Even the moral laws of God are ignored by His followers. We lie, we lust, we act with licentiousness. Why?

Because we inherently like the idea of lawlessness. While we live in the constructs of rules and law; yet we are enamoured with the idea of freedom from rules and laws. We thrive on the illegal and anything that satisfies us; even if it means violating someone else. Think about it:

1. Rape
2. Burgulary
3. White-collar crimes

Each requires hurting someone else for our own satisfaction. But, this is the world we live in because our selfishness and God gets the blame. Yet, the laws stave off utter chaos. The real question should then be "Why does God not allow more suffering and evil in the world?"

Why? Because He loves us! So, when we think it's really bad; think about how much worse it could be and be thankful that God has not allowed it to reach the level of utter depravity!

The Original Starbucks

I was chatting with a classmate on Monday night about coffee houses like Starbucks and realized that Dunkin Donuts was the original coffee shop. We had stayed up all hours of the night because the Dunkin Donuts in New York were 24hours. Not the case with Starbucks! What's up with that? Any of you out there used Dunkin Donuts as your original Starbucks?

A New Addiction

Have any of you played the game "Settlers of Catan"? It is a highly addictive game that I recommend you start playing immediately. I lost poorly the first three (3) times, but managed two (2) decent wins. Will try for two (2) more wins to close out the weekend on a victorious note. If I can progress in the manner I desire; I may move to find out where there is an online version going.

Yes, it's back. The yearly reminder of your duty to be loving to your spouse or significant other. I dare say, it's so commercialized. But worse, it is a cop-out for many who get lazy throughout the year and forget to cherish whom God gave them. I encourage all of you to appreciate the gifts you have (no matter how annoying they may be) and make this a day about your friendship and relationship and less about you.

(Now I think I am going to hurl!!!!!! LOL!)

Protecting the Skeletons

I was talking with someone who had experience great hardship because they chose to speak out against atrocities. It made me think about the skeletons our government tries to protect. It made me think about the skeletons I try to keep. I had to ask my self, "how far would I go to protect a skeleton?" How far would you go to "protect a skeleton?"

Would you consider killing? Would you sacrifice happiness to prevent others from learning about it?

As a fan of the Miami Dolphins, I was more than pleased with the results of Sunday's game. I think I am slowly getting my voice back. Between work and late school yesterday I was too wiped to post. But, that had to be the best game ever to watch! What was you experience?
