Wicked World and good God?

I have often heard the question of why a good God could allow such suffering and evil in the world. It is one of the big questions and I'd like to look at it for a few minutes. While, I believe we ask the question; I believe we really don't want the answer. The answer lies within the unique nature of our origin. As being agents of free-will; we descecrate the beauty the world has to offer. It's the human agent that makes everything bad. Think about it, we don't have to teach our children to be bad; that's a given. Are the laws constructed against the good or bad. Laws were created so we do not act so atrociously. Even the moral laws of God are ignored by His followers. We lie, we lust, we act with licentiousness. Why?

Because we inherently like the idea of lawlessness. While we live in the constructs of rules and law; yet we are enamoured with the idea of freedom from rules and laws. We thrive on the illegal and anything that satisfies us; even if it means violating someone else. Think about it:
  1. Rape
  2. Burgulary
  3. White-collar crimes
Each requires hurting someone else for our own satisfaction. But, this is the world we live in because our selfishness and God gets the blame. Yet, the laws stave off utter chaos. The real question should then be "Why does God not allow more suffering and evil in the world?"

Why? Because He loves us! So, when we think it's really bad; think about how much worse it could be and be thankful that God has not allowed it to reach the level of utter depravity!

I have often heard the question of why a good God could allow such suffering and evil in the world.

Without positing that God is 1) all good, 2) all knowing, and 3) all powerful, the person asking the question really has no question at all. If the presupposition of any or all of these three attributes are removed, the meaning of the question disappears as well.

If God is not completely good, then He can do evil, and even enjoy inflicting pain.

If God is not omniscient, then bad things happen because He is unaware of them, and if He is not omnipotent, then He cannot stop evil because it is beyond His control.

We can only take God to task for those things of which He is aware, and over which He has control.

Why does God not allow more suffering and evil in the world?

I think he's waiting for November to see if Ron Paul wins or if the Tribulation has started.

It's difficult to write to someone with so little self knowledge, to ask to look within.
So oh so briefly I will tell you:
    - Jesus did not speak of a God outside yourself,
    - your mixed parentage does not define who you are, and
    - Good and Evil are simply perspectives.

When you stand alone do you stand with great people.

Wow. That's got to be the dumbest thing I've heard in weeks.

I'd like to know what Bible you've been reading and what Kool-Aid you've been drinking.

    Disarmed and Christian,

It is probably the first counter argument you've heard in weeks.
Your allegiance is to a folk tale 5000 years old. You even believe a man can be born from a virgin like Krishna.
Think about it rather than get all misty-eyed.
So until you use common sense and listen to life, (I gave you the movie to discuss), you will think no higher than a Muslim who also believes in the virgin birth, and who hates you for not thinking his murdering sex-addict prophet is a saint.
    Go figure.

Attention to those who have nothing to offer other than mindless drill or just want to harass me: DROP DEAD!

To the others whom I have enjoyed over the years, don't waste you breath on those morons. We have better things to do like contributing to society in a positive way.
