On the Third Day of Christmas

The "three French hens" stand for faith, hope and love; the three gifts of the Spirit that abide (1 Corinthians 13).*

None of the three (3) are a component of the human heart without God being the author. Faith is the confirmed trust in someone or something. For Christians, it is coming to the inevitable truth that Jesus is who He said He was and He did what He said He would do. It is believing in the facts (seen and unseen) that prove His case. Hope is the assured confidence in that fact that Jesus will complete what He said He would do. He would come back for He kin and bring an end to evil (the devil and his minions) in this world. Our hope is not wishful but certain and it builds as we see God's faithfulness, mercy and grace in our lives. Love, that unselfish, sacrificial love that not only says, but lives the fact that another person's life is more valuable than my own. Jesus proved it on the Cross and He gives Christians a daily opportunity to do the same unto our neighbors.

I pray that today, the Lord will assist every person living in understanding this truth and make the commitment to honor Christ with all the existence.

God bless you all

* - I don't know how valid that this was the meaning behind this carol, but if it brings us back to remembering why we celebrate the time, then so be it!

Attention to those who have nothing to offer other than mindless drill or just want to harass me: DROP DEAD!

To the others whom I have enjoyed over the years, don't waste you breath on those morons. We have better things to do like contributing to society in a positive way.
