While I was doing my laundry this morning, I heard the most interesting report. "Researchers" say that women should no longer perform self-checks and also should wait until fifty (50) if there is no serious risk.
Funnier is the response from the American Cancer Society because they are completely against it. I am siding with the ACS. The timing of this "recent discovery" and the life of the "healthcare overhaul" is very interesting. Would it be possible that the goal is to reduce the expenses on in the medical market because it will not be covered under Obama-Care? Yes, women! Obama-Care does not want you finding out too soon if you have breast cancer because it will be an issue that makes you unworthy of the proper assessments and treatments for your threatening condition. Do you still want Obama-Care? How about scratching the Obama part and just seek the Care.

Sage or Cynic?
I grew up (if I can even say that) with the understanding that wisdom comes with age. I tend to agree with it, but I am seeing so many examples where it just may not ring true. Look at the Supreme Court Justices, Senators and Governors. Many have been around for ages and yet make the most insane liberal decisions. They operate out of predisposition rather than coherent and rational thinking. King Solomon summed up this illogical behaviour in Ecclesiastes as "vanity!" I can spend all day on the vanity of government officials (oh the fun we could have), but I want to redirect our attention to ourselves.
Think about a time (or times) we have made decisions solely based on the fact that we believed we were wise enough or old enough. We thought of ourselves to be intelligent and were in the best position to assess our situation and judge accordingly. We probably had more than enough information and proceed from there. However, in folly, we invested in the wrong thing or threw away the best option. We then turned mad because our decision was ill-advised and looked at the object of our failure as the fault instead of considering the decision maker.
So, the next time we consider a decision based on the number of visible or invisible grey hairs we have, let reflect on the following: 1) We need to ask if it is because we learned to glean much from what we have learned, or; 2) Have we stressed out because we were set in our ways?

Fantasy Football
For years I have been avoiding the invitations to join a league for Fantasy Football. I love Football! However, my knowledge of the players only goes as far as name and hopefully their jersey numbers. I am a Miami Dolphins fan but not so much that I know every player and what college they attended. I have been to several NFL games and have owned some paraphernalia but I am just not a stats kind of person. I have a 3-5 record so far these season and it's okay. It can sometimes be addicting to want to win, but I am happy I tried this out. Maybe I will win next year!
Facebook Mania
I have a FaceBook account, but the one thing I hate more than anything are all those freakin' Apps! I got more requests for Mafia Wars and every other thing that I just don't have the time for. As it is, I have not been consistent on keeping up with my blog! I find myself at times in a conundrum. I love technology, but I can't stand technology because like crack cocaine, people can become addicted. But it is far worse in FaceBook. I get consistent notification about Wildlife donations and every other annoying "feature" inside of FaceBook. I only got on the site because I heard it was better than MySpsace. In many ways yes, but please someone, someone destroy those stinking apps!

Comfortable

Two sisters, one blonde and one brunette, inherit the family ranch..
Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are in financial trouble.
In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull so that they can breed their own stock.
Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, 'When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull, I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home.'
The brunette arrives at the man's ranch, inspects the bull, and decides she wants to buy it.
The man tells her that he will sell it for $599; no less.
After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send her sister a telegram to tell her the news.
She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I've bought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pickup truck and drive out here so we can haul it home."
The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds, it will cost 99 cents per word.
Well, after paying for the bull, the brunette realizes that she'll only be able to send her sister one word.
After a few minutes of thinking, she nods and says, "I want you to send her the word 'comfortable'."
The operator shakes his head. "How is she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to your pickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch if you send her just the word 'comfortable'?"
The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde. The word is big.
She'll read it very slowly.... 'com-for-da-bul'."

My Office Space
Have you ever seen the movie Office Space? I am living in a way you would never believe. I am inspired to buy a red Swingline Stapler soon.
More Appreciative
Have you ever thought back about those relationships you wished never died. Sometimes I do. Two (2) women in my past have profoundly affected my present and I believe my future. One was with the first woman to whom I was engaged. We went our separate ways, but as I look back, she made more sacrifices than I realized. The second, who I assure you is not the stalker, had a different take on life. She brought out the best in me and helped me become less "green". Her advice, tough at times, was truly wise for a person of her age. For both of them, I pray the Lord will truly bless them as they have blessed me.
As I plow forward, I have a better perspective to take as new people come into my life.
